The exhibitions

This year, the festival welcomed several visual artists to exhibit and some benefited from a residency beforehand.

-    Adelina Sasnauskaité, visual artist from Lithuania, stayed in residence for a month and a half. She presented her work created inspired by the women of the village.

-    Bia Boucal was welcomed into residence in January. He produced around twenty works which were exhibited during the festival. He also offered, every Sunday until the festival, themed workshops (recovery of plastics, tree branches, coconuts, worn sandals, collected cassettes, cut cardboard boxes, etc.) for the children of Toubab Dialaw.

These workshops gave rise to a restitution during the festival. Several streets of the village were decorated with the works of the children who were very proud to see their work displayed for all to see.

-    The artist Samba Ndiour exhibited his work during the festival.

-    We also had the chance to welcome Fay'art (The temple of the Spirits)which does enormous recovery work. Every morning on his way to his workshop, he walks on the beach and picks up what he finds on his way. He then creates very concrete paintings from these objects.
